What’s up Westside! Happy Friday. And Happy WNBA Finals to all who celebrate. Let’s take it one game at a time, but it sure is looking like the Dream have a real shot at winning this thing. After Wednesday night’s game, they’re up 2-1 in the series with a home game at State Farm tomorrow at 1pm.
In other news… it’s getting spooky out there folks. We’ve got Halloween themed cocktails, comedy shows, crafts, and more in today’s Anthem.
Let’s get into it 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro West End & South Downtown, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See the menu here.
🌯 El Tesoro South Downtown has a Sunday brunch buffet with burritos, chilaquiles, and more, plus aguas frescas, horchata, and coffee on the patio.
☕ Free coffee this morning: Bellwood Coffee is pouring a tasting of three roasts at Upper West Market from 10:30am-12pm, and bags are 10% off today only.
🥯 Ida’s Kitchen Counter is now open on Mitchell St in South Downtown, and its $15 Breakfast Club deal gets you a B.E.C. or mortadella sandwich, hashbrowns, and coffee for a limited time.
🍺 Wear a kilt, drink free. Monday Night “The Grove” is pouring a free Drafty Kilt for anyone dressed the part on release day, TODAY, Friday 10/23, with Expensive Taste playing from 6-9pm.
🍷 Hop City’s next chapter opens today. The Boiler Room at Upper West Market leans into wine with a bigger bottle list, but still pours craft beer, cocktails, and functional drinks. There’s a mini retail shop for take-home bottles too.
🌙 Happy hour doesn’t have to end at 7. Lucky Star’s Lucky Hour runs 8-10pm Wednesday through Saturday, with drink specials and Murder Point Oysters.
🥂 Firewall is adding Sunday brunch starting 10/25, open noon to 7pm with specials from Salt Your Food until they sell out. Bring your own mimosa fixings.
🥖 The Boombaski is back at Frazie’s Meat & Market, a meatball sub with tomato sauce, melted cheese, and pesto on a toasted roll.
🥕 Sammy’s in Adair Park has a new spooky season menu, and the Root Awakening is a carrot cake latte topped with cream cheese cold foam.
🔥 Jimmie’s Jerk BBQ is popping up at Boggs Social & Supply on Saturday, 10/24, from 5pm until about 9 or sellout, with jerk brisket sandwiches, smoked wings, pork belly plates, and a crispy fried steelhead trout sandwich.
☕ Notable Roasting’s West End shop added Colette Bread pastries to the lineup. Find them next to the coffee Thursday through Sunday.
🍊 Cooks & Soldiers wants the In Bloom to be your first round: jasmine-orange vodka and Licor 43, topped with bubbles and finished with a long citrus twist.
