What’s up West Side! Happy Friday. Hope you’re having a good week.
I honestly can’t believe it. Basically over night, it became sweatshirt weather. Is it here to stay? Your guess is as good as mine.
If you’re looking for good stuff to eat this weekend or things to do, you’re in the right place.
Let’s get into this week’s Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro West End & South Downtown, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See the menu here.
☕ El Tesoro's South Downtown location has a coffee bar open every day, pouring brews made with locally roasted Notable Coffee beans.
🍒 Aiskrimu Ice Cream Bar added a cherry lime sorbet to the menu, but it's only around through Sunday.
💀 Burial Beer is coming back to Georgia after some time off, with cans like Shadowclock, Surf Wax, and Bright hitting shelves the week of 9/28. Hop City is also hosting Burial co-founders Doug Reiser and Tim Gormley for October's Fizz Ed on 10/7-10/8 ($15).
🍺 Five pints of Monday Night Brewing's Oktoberfest Märzen gets you a free shirt. Pick up an Oktoberfest passport at any participating spot and collect a stamp per pour.
🏈 Bottle Rocket runs football bingo every Monday and Thursday night during the game. It's digital, so no beer-soaked cards, and winners take home a BR gift card. Sign up before kickoff and be present to win.
🍕 Howell's Kitchen & Bar does Pie & Vine Tuesday: a bottle of house wine and an 8-inch pizza for $20. Their new parking garage is also open, with the first 2 hours free.
⚽ First round is on The Brewhouse Cafe tonight (9/25) from 5 to 9pm. The soccer bar opened in SoDo in time for the World Cup and is making it official with a grand opening and free bites from the new menu.
🍹 Tyde Tate Kitchen in South Downtown is celebrating Negroni Week with $10 Negronis through Sunday. They recommend pairing one with their best-selling Basil Chicken.
💸 Try everything at Smorgasburg without blowing your budget. Saturday's Smorgin' On A Budget brings $9-and-under specials from vendors like Charlotte's Conch Fritters, What the Shuck, and The Cinna Guys, plus a sticker challenge with prizes.
🍸 Cooks & Soldiers is pouring the Lady Mari, with pear and tarragon-infused gin, quinine liqueur, Génépy, and white vermouth, finished with a guindilla pepper.
🥟 Big Boss opened as takeout-only during COVID, and the reputation stuck. Their new dine-in specials menu is built for wok hei you have to eat on the spot, like hand-pulled chow fun ($15) and chili wontons wrapped to order ($10). Available from 5pm with free parking.
🍗 Taqueria del Sol brought back a fan favorite: chicken with blue cheese grits, topped with brown mustard barbecue sauce and crispy fried onions.
🍝 Forza Storico's chitarra with toasted Sarawak pepper and pecorino is three ingredients done right. All of a sudden, it’s pasta weather. -Connor
🍻 Every Tuesday from 4 to 6pm, Chattahoochee Food Works runs Georgia's Largest Happy Hour, with BOGO gyoza, $15 po' boy combos, and $8 margaritas across 30+ stalls.

(🤨 -Connor) It’s caused by algae in Lake Lanier (and others) which reaches its highest levels of concentration this time of year. Although not considered a problem, algae has seen a nearly 10x growth since 2024. Just another totally normal occurrence at Lake Lanier…
