What’s going on Westside! We made it through another week!
I wanted to shout out a Westside business this Friday… Danger Press. My wife is a teacher and her school ordered custom screen-printed shirts for their debate team, and Danger Press knocked them out of the park.
This isn’t a paid ad, just wanted to give a local spot credit where credit is due.
Anyway… my friend James touched on this in yesterday’s East Atlanta Anthem, but what is up with weekends getting rained out in October? Not cool at all. I hope you stay dry this weekend and the events planned are able to carry on.
Alright, let’s get into this week’s Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro West End & South Downtown, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See the menu here.
🌯 Is a 21oz burrito a meal for one or two people? El Tesoro’s South Downtown spot on Mitchell St wants to know.
🍺 Brewhouse SoDo has a $1 beer deal Monday through Friday from 5-8pm: your first pint or can is a buck with any entrée, pizza, burger, or sandwich. They also run $5 beers during Monday and Thursday Night Football and $5 shots on Fridays.
🍊 Notable Roasting has an Orange Cardamom Latte on the seasonal menu at West End, made with espresso, steamed milk, house-made cardamom syrup, and orange bitters.
📺 CTR Food Works is showing a packed weekend of games: Dream vs. Liberty on Friday, Georgia Tech and Georgia on Saturday, and three NFL and NBA games on Sunday. Grab food from the vendors and a drink from the bar.
🍒 Little Sparrow is serving soft serve with pistachio and amarena cherries, and it comes in a vintage glass coupe.
🍔 Loko Eatz is slinging smash burgers at Boggs Social & Supply on Friday 10/9 and Saturday 10/10. Their menu includes a $14 Reuben Melt on Texas toast and $11 smash fries loaded with a beef patty, onions, and smash sauce.
🍞 Westview Corner Grocery gets fresh bread from Alon’s Bakery six days a week, sourdough included.
🍏 Aiskrimu’s October soft serve flavors are in: Caramel Apple Cheesecake (a collab with Dorothy’s Desserts) and a vegan Cherry Lime Sorbet, plus vanilla in both dairy and vegan.
🍎 Save room at Boone’s. Their Apples & Pecans dessert brings together vanilla crème anglaise, apples, pecans, and burnt honey.
🍻 Half off everything. That’s the new weekday happy hour at Howell’s Kitchen & Bar, where all liquor, beer, and wine is 50% off from 4-6pm.
🦪 Bovino After Dark’s latest menu includes pork with okra and mochi, blue crab with grilled cantaloupe, and a new Persimmon Sorbet intermezzo with Anaheim chili caramel. Book Friday or Saturday with code OYS on Resy through 10/31 for a free half dozen oysters.
💼 Boxcar at Hop City is hiring. Reach out to Kraig at [email protected] or (470) 788-8171 to ask about open positions.

⛳️ ATLGolfs just dropped their 2026-27 Atlanta Golf Pass and it has some pretty insane benefits if you play (or want to gift it to a golfer in your life). I’ve met the guy behind this project and he’s good people. -Connor

🌀 Hurricane Isaias strengthened to a Category 2 storm with 100 mph winds on Thursday and is tracking toward Atlanta. Expect the worst of it Saturday, with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and possible tornadoes. Multiple watches are in effect for the area.
